The origins of HTB buns (Hanna Town Bakery) began in 1951 when a country baker named Reginald Hendrickson, moved his plant (then called National Bakery) from Mandeville to 45 Half-Way-Tree Road Kingston Jamaica. New bakery products(including hardo bread)were added at a later date.

During 1957, National Bakery began to produce snacks and biscuits. A merger with the U.S based Continental Baking Company followed later.

During the 1970, National acquired HolsumBakery in Mandeville, the United Bakery in May Pen and the Hannah Town Bakery (HTB) in Kingston.

National Bakery continues to produce high quality products which are known throughout the Caribbean and the world.
